Camping out at Disneyland Paris
Every summer for years, the children have begged to go to disneyland paris – and each time we've batted back reasons to avoid the place. The queues, the hype, the expense at disneyland paris was just too much to bear.
Then it hit us that unless we said 'yes' soon, the oldest would stop asking and we would for ever be branded tight-lipped killjoys. So we relented – up to a point, We would do the Disneyland Paris if they promised to explore further afield and we didn't stay in a Disneyland Paris hotel – a solid week of themed decor, piped Lion King and relentless good cheer being enough to tip anyone over the edge.
To keep the costs down, we considered camping away from Disneyland Paris . Well, I did. My wife, Frances, vetoed an actual tent.Instead, we chose a four-bedroom lodge like a super-sized Tyrolean doll's house in one of those posh campsites the French do so well.
